Three's Company Blues - Devil in Disguise (2020)

Ryan 'Ron' Wright, leads the band with his powerful, expressive guitar leads, while Katie Barker sits deep in the pocket with subtle, solid basslines, and when Shane 'Diesel' Durham, drives the whole machine home along with his thunderous, unrelenting percussion, your face will surely be melted. All three members are vocalists, and the band loves to highlight the strength of their soulful lead vocals and tight, sometimes out-of-the-box harmonies. The band was born of the trio’s driving desire to play music and keep the blues alive. What began as a fun side project among friends quickly turned into a serious, focused celebration of the group’s passion for the blues, rock and roll, and celebrating expression through music.

Their first album, Devil in Disguise, was recorded at Riot City Studios in Morgantown and features nine original songs. The album is a well-rounded representation of the group’s style, featuring heavy blues rock, seething slow blues, and a touch of indie rock. While they often highlight instrumental and vocal solos, they are of the belief that the band’s strength lies in the sum of its parts. As further evidence of that mindset, every aspect of Devil in Disguise, from song lyrics and musical structure to cover art and content, was a fully collaborative effort combining input from every band member.

Ron, Katie, and Diesel all grew up listening to music, and early on, they each developed a deep connection and love for the music of their parents’ generation. This connection is apparent in their cover song choices and can also be heard in some stylistic aspects of their original tunes. Their influences span a wide range of genres from Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule, Neil Young, Grateful Dead, and even Roy Clark!
