To record Bach’s Six Suites was Emmanuelle Bertrand’s most cherished dream; it has now become reality thanks to her encounter with an exceptional instrument. Built by Carlo Tononi in Venice in 1730, this cello with its deep and generous sound, set up in ‘Baroque’ style (with gut strings and bow to match), has proved to be the most faithful of partners for tackling one of the most impressive monuments in all western music.

I downloaded 24-88.2 but from 1'23" of 1-4 to the end of the track no sound :((
@sddd
Can you tell it to the shop ?

From YouTube C & G are silver, D & A are wound-gut and
she uses vibrato.
I got to think she makes rhythm flow on purpose.
Expression is supple but profound, not contrapuntal, especially double stop is beautiful !
Without error, I would recommend this as almost top though not authentic performance :(
Thanks

Thank you again for correction ^.^
Period cello, period bow and gut & silver strings but she plays as she feels, not authentic.
She sometimes uses double stop when note moves from a string to neighbor one !
My top 5 with Peter Bruns, Alexander Kniazev's 2nd Recording, Gavriel Lipkind and Matt Haimovitz's 2nd one, am I a weirdo ?
