Bedford-based singer-songwriter Luke Tuchscherer presents his new album, Always Be True, the follow-up to 2014's acclaimed debut You Get So Alone At Times That It Just Makes Sense. Produced, recorded and mixed by Tom Peters at The Den, Bury St Edmunds, Always Be True features ten self-penned compositions that draw on a gamut of influences from Steve Earle, Tom Petty and Uncle Tupelo. Whereas his debut focused more towards Tuchscherer's gentler, more intimate songwriting this new record gives the former Whybird greater freedom in terms of scope and direction. Tuchscherer's introduction to the UK Americana scene came via the highly regarded alt.country band The Whybirds, with whom Luke sang and played drums. On Always Be True, the original four-piece Whybirds reunite for two tracks, 'Don't Put Me Out' and 'These Lonesome Blues', with Tuchscherer reacquainting himself once again with the drum stool, whilst darker themes are touched upon in the haunting 'A Song For Jack Brown,' a song written in the memory of young life lost. With the release of Always Be True, Tuchscherer underlines his position as one of the UK's finest singer-songwriters and live performers. Tuchscherer will be touring the UK in support of the album including performances at Red Rooster Festival and Tingestock.

'As good a slice of alt.country as you are likely to hear this year' - Michael Park, The International Americana Music Show; 'If you like your country on the outlaw side, if you enjoy a well-written slow song, if quality musicianship makes you nod your head and smile, then you will appreciate this album - *****' --Country Music People, July 2017

'Always Be True is not just a fine addition to the UK Americana scene but also a fine addition to any contemporary music scene and deserves to be heard way beyond the confines of any musical genre. I thoroughly recommend it' - Fatea Magazine; 'Always Be True frames an artist in control, earning every inch of their crust and repaying the faith presented to them. Luke Tuchscherer makes damn good music.' --Three Chords & The Truth
