Brand New Key - Hinterlands (2020)

Hinterlands introduces nine new original tracks ranging in style from country to bluegrass instrumental to mountain music, as well as a couple of crowd-pleasing covers by Dead Horses and Steve Earle. The band has matured since its 2016 debut End of the Story, layering harmonically rich melodies against the backdrop of a wild, uncertain landscape. The songs explore the complexities of living in these modern times: navigating the Austin folk music scene, creating space for queer artists, and confronting unabating tides of change.
