His music has been compared to that of folk and rock greats like Hank Williams, Big Joe Turner, Bob Dylan, Elmore James, PJ Harvey and Nick Cave. Now Luke Elliot releases his second album "The Big Wind"
If there is one thing Luke Elliot is used to, it is flattering comparisons with the greats of folk and rock. Hank Williams, Big Joe Turner, Bob Dylan, Elmore James, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave. His cinematic music is elegant and down-to-earth at the same time, does not shy away from great emotions and captivates with poetic lyrics, haunting epic stories and a voice that conveys an incredibly mature vulnerability.
About his second album "The Big Wind", which immediately captures and reminds of the film noir tonality of Tom Waits or Nick Cave, he says: "These songs treat a pull towards a more stable existence. When I wrote the album I didn't have a permanent home. But somehow I left my lottery life behind, met my wife and pulled myself together to make this album. Everyone has to grow up sometime," says Elliot. To date, Elliot has released an EP and his debut album 'Dressed for the Occasion', produced by indie icon John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile) and highly acclaimed worldwide.
Elliot was born and raised in New Jersey. He now sees himself as an international artist and regularly tours the USA, Australia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Europe.
