The composition Rocinha serves as the opening movement and catalyst for the album Q Theory, introducing the sound of Rara Jazz. Drawing inspiration from the legacy of Quincy Jones, the harmonic depth of John Coltrane, the improvisational mastery of Herbie Hancock, and the vibrant spirit of Rio's famous favela, the track weaves together jazz, Caribbean, Brazilian, African, and American music traditions. The piece features a complex multi-instrumental arrangement led by Wyclef Jean on guitars, Fender Rhodes, bass, synthesizers, and drum programming. He is joined by pianist Robert Glasper, keyboardist Patrick Pelissier, drummer Emmanuel Laine, bassist Emanuel Najee, and saxophonist Godwin Louis, with layered vocal textures contributed by Kayla Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter, and Lynette Rhett.
