Zabriskie Point - Weepsleepdream (2020)

You simply have to have heard the music of the Zabriskie Point formation around the Cologne vibraphonist Rupert Stamm, because these multi-layered and refined sounds are so fantastic that they can hardly be put into words: the specialist magazine Jazzdimensions spoke a year ago of the “idiosyncratic fusion of folkloristic Elements of the music of Asia and Africa with western jazz, ambient sounds and avant-garde for an exciting world beat crossover ”. The Westerwald newspaper felt "unusual world music of elementary power". Either way: Zabriskie Point stand for their own sound world: powerful and delicate, clarified and experimental - a musical ping-pong game with countless surprise effects. The fourth album of the trio called "Mantra", published in 2004 by the internet label Zerozero, also impressed the critics with its independence. And now the formation also invites you on a rhythmic journey around the world with expressive sound images and electro-acoustic sound gadgets. Zabriskie Point is also launching a new album: “WeepSleepDream” is due to be released soon and, together with its predecessor, forms the basis for an extraordinary listening experience in an empty bag.
