2009 release from the Alt-Pop outfit. How I Wasted My Youth is a curious masterpiece of Pop, filled with melodies and harmonies that turn it's lyrics of disappointment and loss into a strangely uplifting, beautiful record. Despite set-backs and twists of fate that would disgrace the pen of a soap scriptwriter, and having 'lost' more drummers than Spinal Tap, THWFoS have somehow made How I Wasted My Youth an uplifting work of great beauty. An early review from God Is in the TV's Michael Hall described it as "an album of delicately shaded dark and light from a band intent on creating their own virtual musical world... a widescreen stretch of Pop landscape". to wring such positivity from adversity would be a remarkable thing for most groups, but those who know THWFoS would expect nothing less. And "those who know" are growing in numbers. Marketstall.
