The São Paulo-based producer Frontinn from the ODD collective arrives with her first full-length album Underlying Problems. The record is permeated with casiotone melodies, empty-room reverbs, obsessive repetitions and partially slow reactions that suddenly turn into fast responses. An album that feels disoriented in space and could perfectly be drifting in another decade. Produced during a moment of interval, the record reflects the artist's inner state and resonates with everyday changing moods. As the artist points out: "The album was entirely made after fragments appropriated from different interviews, books and films that were repurposed into track names, artwork, video and album title. It's always been usual for me to come across elements that caught my attention, change their context and work with them later; they always reveal something and I think this invisible force that makes sense out of these initially 'displaced' elements became clear now for this record. The way we live in society feels very much like that in a way. Being in this super productive era, with tons of information delivered to us at every minute and eventually only one particular detail captures our attention… I think this album are these small details and fragments that got stuck with me and were important for some reason."
