Xu Guanjie is the originator of modern Cantonese popular songs. The Hong Kong oral interpretation method he created has created a new era of local songs in Hong Kong. It has played a decisive role in the implementation and development of Cantonese songs. Xu Guanjie's 1974 album "Ghost Horse Double Stars" opened the prelude to Hong Kong's contemporary pop music scene, and the 1976 classic album "Half a Catty Two" marked the formal formation of the Hong Kong Cantonese pop market. Xu Guanjie is the biggest contributor to creating contemporary Hong Kong popular songs. He and his brothers Xu Guanwen, Xu Guanwu and Xu Guanying collectively called "Xu's Four Masters".
