Leszek Cichoński and friends - Thanks Jimi Symphonik (2020)

Jimi Hendrix was a dreamer. One of his unfulfilled fantasies was leading a large symphony orchestra, with which, like Strauss or Wagner, he could transform his ideas into a new form of classical music. The fulfillment of the Master's unrealized plans is probably the most emphatic proof of the homage that the Student can give him.

Leszek Cichoński has been convincing listeners for decades that Jimi is his Master, hundreds of his concerts under the slogan "Thanks Jimi - a tribute to Jimi Hendrix" and recordings were filled with hendrix phrase. He was nominated for the Fryderyk award with his album "Polish guitars play Hendrix". The largest guitar orchestra of all time, playing under his leadership "Hey Joe", was entered in the Guinness Book of Records. Finally, half a century after Jimi's death, he realized his great dream - Hendrix's greatest compositions, written out for a great symphonic orchestra composition, made available to fans in the form of an album. This is the first undertaking of its kind in the history of world phonography. The student fulfilled the master's fantasy.

The album is filled with recordings of the concert under the slogan "Thanks Jimi - symphonically", which took place in 2016. A remarkable sound quality and elegant aesthetics of the interior of the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw provided a decent setting. The clear and juicy sound of the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jerzy Kosk gave the compositions new, moving emotions. The vocal parts were filled with their natural expression Jorgos Skolias and Malford Milligan, who in collaboration with Greg Koch wrote an English text for Cichonski's composition "Thanks Jimi". Leszek's guitar in an extremely touching way brought out all the nuances of the spirit of Hendrix's music.
