Radio personality, keyboardist, singer, songwriter, producer.... Ladies and Gentlemen - Meet Brian Clay! Brian is a keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter/producer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He's originally from Chicago, began playing piano at age 5, and continued when his family and he moved to ATL in 1972.
Brian's piano stylings have been compared to legendary players like Joe Sample and George Duke as well as contemporaries like Jeff Lorber, Gregg Karukus, Phil Davis and Alex Bugnon. His playing is tasteful and intelligent and he does what many players can't -- he tells a story with his playing. Each note serves as a compliment to the last and an introduction to the next that builds a new, emotional and exciting climax each and every time.
Brian's vocal style is polished and romantic, evoking the spirits of Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway and Luther Vandross. His delivery is classy and elegant. There are few volcalists that can do justice to covers by Luther, or Donny Hathaway or Nat King Cole. Brian does it with style - honoring the talent and genius of the artists - and at the same time, creating his own identity in each.
Brian is also a 15-year veteren of the radio indutry and is currently an air-personality on two of Atlanta's top radio stations: Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ, broadcasting every Saturday from 6pm-10pm; and Praise 97.5. Atlanta's Inspirations Station hosting a Gospel Jazz program every Sunday from 5pm - 8pm.
Brian is also creator and program director of an internet radio station called Jazzspirations that streams inspirational jazz 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
