This album by Richard Cheetham’s Orchestra of the Renaissance, guest conducted by Michael Noone, contains Spanish settings based on the Old Testament’s Song of Songs. The core piece here is Cristobal de Morales’ Missa Vulnerasti cor meum. The Orchestra of the Renaissance, which combines British singers with an international array of (mainly wind) instrumentalists, produces a very distinctive sound picture excellently captured here by Nick Parker and Adrian Hunter in this 1999 Cambridge recording.
