Jowe Head is a legendary figure in and one of the originators and originals of the British indie scene. He was a member of two of Britain’s most seminal and influential groups of the 70s and 80s The Swell Maps and The Television Personalities. This reissue of Jowe’s 1981 solo album ‘Pincer Movement’ is a reason for celebration. ‘Pincer Movement’ combines elements of D,I,Y. post punk, kraut rock, doo wop, Howlin’ Wolf, Listen With Mother, the Bonzo Dog Band and experimental noisescapes As well as Jowe there is a cast of indie royalty contributing to the magnificent madness including fellow Swell Maps Epic Soundtracks and Phones Sportsman, former TVP and “the Joe Meek of indie” Joe Foster , jazz chanteuse Carmel McCourt and TVPs drummer Mark Sheppard. This edition of the album features exclusive bonus cuts, never seen before photos and the original recordings have been lovingly digitally re-mastered from the original analogue tapes supervised by Jowe
