Platurno - Insano (2010)

The second studio album by Chilean progressive rock trio Platurno, released by the French label Musea Records.

Released five years after their debut, "Núcleos" (2006), "Insano" cemented Platurno's status as one of the most virtuosic and technically accomplished bands on the contemporary Chilean progressive scene.

The album is almost entirely instrumental (with the exception of occasional vocals, such as on the track "Control"). The music combines complex harmonic structures, frequent changes in rhythmic time signatures, and a dense interplay of keyboards and guitars. The band's sound is noticeably inspired by the legacy of King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP), and their compatriots Tryo, but is also infused with contemporary heavy rock drive and jazz fusion inflections.
