A collection from five centuries of magnificent choral masterpieces sung by the world renown Choir of St. John's College, Cambridge. The choir consists of the voices of 15 young men and 16 young boys(trebles). This CD contains a collection of compositions from early Renaissance composer Gregorio Allegri (1582 – 1652) through 20th Century composers Sergei Rachmaninoff and Ralph Vaughan Williams singing a wonderful litany of sacred music. This CD will test the ability of your system to handle sung music at the highest range of the human voice, while providing a listening experience of serene musical beauty, something this choir has been doing successfully since the 1670's. It should appeal equally to audiophiles, music historians and music lovers alike.
