Les Hay Babies - Mon Homesick Heart (2014)

Les Hay Babies is an indie -folk- country music band consisting of three girls with colourful personalities. Winners of Francouvertes 2013 and recipients of several awards at Festival Vue sur la Relève, Katrine, Vivianne and Julie, all from New Brunswick, intermingle their Acadian accents to flamboyant musical atmospheres to create their own indie-folk-country recipe. If one of their greatest strength is vocal harmony, authentic stories they tell is also what makes this young trio so charming. Directed by François Lafontaine (Karkwa) and recorded by Mathieu Parisien, "Mon Homesick Heart " is a rich first album with deep arrangements and diversified sound textures; courtesy of the profound and inventive guitar playing of Joe Grass (Patrick Watson), subtle ingenious drums by José Major (Marie- Pierre Arthur) and exemplary mastered bass lines by Mishka Stein (Patrick Watson).
