Sophistasoul - Love Revolved (2018)

LoveRevolved is a portrait of love flowing through its different stages and transformations as viewed from varying perspectives. The content covers romance, true appreciation for one’s spouse, self-love, a parent’s love of a child, love for mankind, God's love, etc.

Tracks one through five center around a romantic love theme. The transition from the initial “love at first sight” experience to falling hard for one’s lover is journeyed during the first two songs. This is followed by a look into the all too common blunder of allowing creeping doubt and self-sabotage to taint a relationship. Fortunately, in this story, an appreciation for the relationship that has been built is realized before it is too late. The first section of the album is recapitulated and expanded upon with the tune “If You Don’t Mind.” A true unconditional love that transcends the physical life is achieved.

Tracks six through ten explore self-love. “Not From Here” and “FireBird” focus on the fairer sex and the confidence and self-respect that should come with the beautiful bewildering complicated concoction of strength, veracity, sensitivity, seductiveness, and innate wisdom that is a woman. “I Promise” and “Young Man” are expressed through the eyes of a father and mentor respectively. The energy and intensity of “I Promise” reflects that of a young boy who is growing physically, mentally, and emotionally in leaps and bounds that will be unmatched by any other season in his life. Young man, with it’s intensely focused and driving feel replicates the time in a mans life when he finds out what “being a man means. His mentor is encouraging him to hold his head high in the midst of the ups and down of life and keep “moving forward.”

The final two songs on the project are about Agape love or love of mankind. The love in these songs delves deeper and further than the two smaller forms of love. The songs express a love that surpasses our differences and intrinsic need to find superiority through identifying the “flaws” in others. The insufficient human mind cannot hold enough wisdom and understanding to get past the errant ideologies and biases instilled in us through generations of teachings, which spawned from our respective ancestors. The fact still stands that love will remain in the end.
