The Inspirations ensemble was born from the meeting of French oboist Frédéric Tardy and bassoonist Julien Hardy, during a series of chamber music concerts at the Festival des Arcs in 2008.
They invited pianist Simon Zaoui, for a program articulated around Francis Poulenc’ Trio, a masterwork of the 20th century chamber music. Also included are works never released on disks, such as Robert Planel’s the Andante et Scherzo (a continuateur of the young impressionist Debussy), or others very rarely recorded : among them, Jean Françaix’s festive and disconcerting Trio, André Jolivet’s Sonatine, all in asceticism and fluidity, and Florent Schmitt’s Quatuor, a masterpiece of lyrism and equilibrium (with the participation of clarinettist Nicolas Baldeyrou).
A disk recorded with heart, patience, and with lots of positive vibes.
