Stretch was one of the hottest bands born in the violent seventies rock scene. Armed with powerful songs and a top-class front man, Stretch embodied with their songs on their tours as one of the best live acts in a time when "live" rock reigned.
They released a number of fine albums and featured in 1975 with "Why Did You Do It?" a hit single that gave her career a huge boost. Among the 20 tracks of songs are tracks from excellent albums "Elastique", You Can't Beat Your Brain For Entertainment "and" Lifeblood ".
The story of the band is told in the extensive liner notes by Stretch author Campbell Deine and also contains interviews with the original band members, including Elmer Gantry and Kirby. Although Stretch separated in 1979, they broke up in 2007. A foretaste of this album is in the form of the bonus track "Down In The Bottom", which is on the bonus CD of this timeless Best Of. On this bonus CD there are also 2 unreleased tracks and two maxi versions of their greatest hit "Why Did You Do It"
