Musician Richard Cortez has released his solo album “summer,” marking one of the most vivid and mature works of his career. The record weaves intimate jazz and vocal interpretations of classic summer-themed compositions together with the artist's personal audio archives.

Integrated throughout the album are snippets from a rare cassette recording sent to Richard Cortez by his grandfather when the singer was 18 years old. These archival spoken-word messages interact with the music, infusing familiar songs with a deeply autobiographical context and transforming the release into a conceptual reflection on the seasons of life and generational legacy.
