Leo Alvarez is a composer, arranger, guitarist and teacher. He was born in San Antonio de Padua province of Buenos Aires on October 17, 1969. He studied harmony and improvisation with Armando Alonso and traditional harmony and counterpoint with Maestro Luis Arias. With an important trajectory in the local jazz scene of almost two decades on stage. He participated in groups such as Mariano Tito Jr.'s Big Band, the big band of the Biblioteca Argentina de Ciegos (BAC Big Band) dependent on the Ministry of Culture of La Nación, and together with Horacio Larumbe and Juan Cruz de Urquiza, among others. He also joined the acoustic quintets of Gustavo Cortajerena, Guillermo Calliero and "El Suruví Mareado" by Enrique Norris, and participated as a guest in Ariel Goldemberg's Big band at the Jazz Club Del paseo la Plaza. Mariano Tito Jr.'s Big Band, and replacement of the musical director of Bs As Hair 2003. He participated in the album Clareza by Belen Perez Muñiz, as musical director and arranger, along with Daniel Maza and Osvaldo Fattoruso. He participated in the recording of the saxophonist Mario Gomez, (Rio Gallegos) together with Eloy Michelini and Guillermo Romero. He has played with musicians such as Oscar Giunta, Diego Lutteral, Cristian Jerez, Dario Eskenazi, Alejandro Santos, Ricardo Nole, Livia Barboza, Fernando Martinez, Ricardo Cavalli and Guillermo Delgado among many others.In 2007 he presented his first solo album Contraluces in the that have participated Pablo Raposo on piano, Claudio Risso on drums, Pablo Carmona on Double bass, Juan Cruz de Urquiza on trumpet and Juan Manuel Alfaro on Saxos.
