Kekoa Tsukiyama, the lead singer of CitySide, started singing with a group of friends in the 8th grade. While in high school, he continued performing and started writing his own songs. Josiah Kekoa from the group Ten Feet was one of the first people to record his original compositions.
In 2007, Kekoa officially started the band called CitySide. As a trio, they gained popularity playing gigs at various venues around Hawaii. After several lineup changes and members leaving for college, Kekoa was determined to pursue a career in the music industry.
In 2008, Kekoa's father (and band manager) met Duane Oyama of Mass Appeal Productions who introduced them to Dr. Trey (Tracey Terada). It was Dr. Trey who recorded the band's debut album "Welcome To The CitySide". During the recording process, Tracey introduced the band to Solomon Makainai who then became CitySide's drummer.
One listen to CitySide and you will immediately hear radio friendly melodies and strong crisp vocals that have always been the foundation of the group.
