Lavender Lush is a revelation. The first studio album by Canada’s Lavender Lush is precisely what it should be. Inner Gods features new wave synths along with nods to Little Dragon, Gorillaz, and FKA twigs, and an underground Canada synth-pop scene. The duo and its sound is part of a route from playful electro-pop to dance, which is part of their appeal. The Torontonian outfit is an invigorating brand of seductive electronic music, breathing a mix of '80s dance-pop and up-tempo '90s R&B with artsy style, creating an accessible collection that's stylish and multifaceted. Singer Chambliss Charlie's voice is soulful, jazzy, and flirty as heard on "Indigo Dreams." Paying homage to Little Dragon, tracks like "Breathe," "Skin," and "Ghost Inside" ooze the Swedish groups essence, but the tribute to Prince in "Tigers Claw" provides a swagger that's sultry electro-R&B. Lavender Lush also flavors pop-oriented songs like "Transform," "Never No Rest," and "Rush Sugar." This debut from Lavender Lush masters the art of fusing electronic and pop for an all out good time.

Lavender Lush is Chambliss Charlie (vocals, drum programming, and synths) and Hotbox (synths and programming).
