Sultan Khan - Strings by Sultan Khan (2020)

Raga Patdeep is a beautiful raga rendered on the Sarangi by Ustad Sultan Khan. Ustad Sultan Khan, who traces his roots to Jodhpur, learned the sarangi from his father Ustad Gulab Khan. He has gone on to master this challenging instrument and establish his virtuousity. Accolades have come in the form of various awards, including from the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

His rendition of Raga Patdeep is in Jhaap Tala. This flittering lighter melody reflects eagerness implicit intrigue and separation pangs. The use of Nishad Shuddha in Raga Bheempalasi transforms it to Raga Patdeep.
