Born in Honduras to Brazilian parents, Indiana Nomma grew up in many different countries: Mexico, Portugal, Nicaragua, East Germany and Brazil. Nomma began studying classical singing and piano at a young age and took part in drama and choir activities, which gave her the opportunity to sing in concert tours across Costa Rica and the United States, where she performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York before the age of 20.
Nomma has given opening performances for Gloria Gaynor, Billie Paul, Ney Matogrosso, Milton Nascimento, Jorge Aragão and Celso Blues Boy, among others. She also participated in nationals and internationals jazz and bossa nova festivals and is considered to be one of the most active singers in this styles. She has become regarded as a Brazilian jazz revelation. In 2016 and 2017 she toured Germany and Italy, where she was enthusiastically received at Jazz Club Monza and Sporting Club in Milan and in 2018 she was in "Brazilian Week" in Bangladesh as the only performer.
Nomma released three albums: Indiana Nomma (2015) which presents a repertoire of contemporary Brazilian songs; the second was recorded in collaboration with renowned Brazilian pianist Osmar Milito, 'Unexpected' (2015) and was among three albums nominated for the 27th annual Brazilian Music Awards in the category ‘Best Foreign Language Album’. In May 2017, she has released the CD 'LESSONS IN LOVE', a collaboration with acclaimed Bossa Nova producer Raymundo Bittencourt.
