Jochen Schrumpf - Pulse (2020)

Jochen Schrumpf has been playing guitar in a wide variety of line-ups and bands at home and abroad since 1972. He toured all over Europe and the USA with musicians like Randy Brecker, Bob Berg, Jonas Hellborg, Trilok Gurtu, Ramesh Shotam, Hakim Ludin, Jaques Stotzem, Muriel Anderson, Angela Brown and Debbie Cameron. He worked in bands like Ceddo, Kollektiv, Bescay, Missus Beastly and Cape Coast Syndicate. He played at readings for authors such as Erich Fried, Martin Walser, Ralf Thenior, Max von der Grün, Christoph Derschau and Wolf Dietrich Schnurre. Jochen Schrumpf was director of the "Glen Buschmann Jazz Academy" (1996 - 2018), winner of the WDR Jazz Prize 2017 in the honorary award category, and director of the "Popschool Dortmund" (2008 - 2018). As a lecturer for jazz guitar, he worked for many years at the Dortmund Music School and is a member of the examination board at various renowned music universities in Germany and abroad.
