Eartha Kitt - The Best Of Eartha Kitt (2026 Remaster) (1982)

American singer, actress, dancer and civil rights activist Eartha Kitt rose to fame in the 1950s thanks to an unmistakable singing style: a slinky stage presence and a throaty, purring voice, which she showcased in nightclub performances. She cultivated the image of a “sex-kitten” chanteuse and, at the same time, of an exotic, sophisticated international woman, bringing vivid passion to her torch songs. Orson Welles called her “the most exciting woman in the world.” Among her recordings, “C’est Si Bon” and the Christmas novelty song “Santa Baby” stand out, having become classics almost immediately after release. The 1953–1959 New York sessions include many other hits; Kitt sings lead vocals on every track, accompanied by the orchestras of Henri René, Maurice Levine, Shorty Rogers and Anton Coppola.
