Swantje Lampert - Now! (2020)

If one maintains the association imperative, in the case of Swantje Lampert Sonny Rollins it becomes obvious several times. With bass (Karol Hodas) and drums (Christian Eberle), SWANtje is in the trio tradition of the last living giant of the Golden Age. But also the earthy tenor sound, the rhythmic conciseness and the altogether eleven consistently convincing original compositions breathe audibly the Spirit of Rollins. It may be a coincidence that the album title "Now" is reminiscent of Rollins' "Now's the Time", on which Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter can be heard, among others, of which Lampert has a piece in his luggage. And doesn’t change the fact that this was a very independent, great album. (Klaus Nüchtern, Der Falter)
