Depth of Field, the Triplicate Records debut from Chris Randall is a portal to somewhere less grim than the strange world we find ourselves in. Ironically this is conveyed by a strange, yet rewarding purist approach of composing exclusively in organic textures. Aural treasures litter the desolate minimalist landscape. Pretty analogue tones and smart, sparse Oval-esque left-field percussive layering make this a joyous record to come back to over and over again, it's got that kind of pull to it.
