Marcus - from Detroit, Michigan - was first signed by Al Teller of United Artists Records (now EMI Capitol). Taking residence in Los Angeles, he recorded the classic heavy metal ‘Marcus’ album which was re-released on Zoom Records throughout Europe and the US in 2001.

Marcus has performed at the Royal Albert Hall opening for BB King; Burnley, Tenby, Upton and The Great British Rhythm & Blues festivals in the UK and various UK Arts Centres and Blues Clubs including Darlington and the Brewery Arts Kendal, along with The Great British Rock and Blues Festival.

Performances in Europe include Kwadendamme, Tegelen, Huntenpop, Oisterwijk, Hoogeveen, Geithoorn, Enchede and Texel Festivals in the Netherlands; The Luxemburg Festival and in France - Pleins Feaux Festival in Bonneville; 'American Journeys' in Cambrai, Fete de la Musique in Marc En Baroeul, Presqu'ile Blues Festival in Ambialet (opening for The Straits), Buc n' Blues, Blues & Rock Festival in Segoufielle and Le Show Room, Valenciennes.

Since relocating to the UK Marcus has written, produced and recorded six albums on the Redline Music Label, including ‘One More Time’ (1999) from which the title song featured on ‘Blueprint 99 –The Best of The British Blues’ album, followed by ’Walkin’ Shoes’ 2002, from which ‘Take It To Heart’ featured on Blues In Britain 2002 - ‘The Best of British Blues’ album. The third album ‘Blue Radio’ was released in early 2005, with the song ‘Mama Said’ featured on ‘The Best of British Blues’ 2005. 'Hurricane' (2007) received great reviews in several rock publications and traditional blues magazines including ‘Rock Tribune‘ in Belgium and ‘Bluesnews‘ in Germany.

'Let The Sunshine In' arrived in 2011, recorded in the UK and released in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium through Cadiz Distribution (UK). Get Ready To Rock! had this to say about the release:

“…a work of real maturity and great playing, and is palpable proof that rock blues can have soul” and singled out 'Heartbreak Kid’ – “which sounds like the hit that Tom Petty never had.”

'Stand or Fall' distributed through Inakustic of Germany was another collection of original blues based rock songs and was nominated for ‘Best Recorded Session 2014’ by the European Blues Awards.

Which brings us to 2017 and…. ‘A Better Man’.
