If you are born into a thoroughly musical family, you have two options: rebel or make music. I decided to do both early on. At the age of 6 I took the path of a musician, but ventured into “unfamiliar” terrain: classical piano training instead of singing.
My father's record collection and trips to the legendary Rosenheim jazz club LePirate soon awakened my musical free spirit. So when I was 14 I switched to the saxophone. What was thought of as a harmless affair quickly turned into great love. To blame for my complete infatuation with the instrument: Mulo Francel, known to be extremely brilliant saxophonist from Quadro Nuevo and luckily my first teacher.
A few years of listening to jazz and jazz jamming later, it was clear: I have the talent and passion to play the saxophone professionally! And so I threw myself into saxophone studies at HMT Munich under Prof. Leszek Zadlo and then successfully completed the master class with Prof. Florian Trübsbach. Formative encounters at this time: appearances and sessions with personalities such as Randy Brecker, Terri Lyne Carrington, Tony Lakatos, Jiggs Whigham, Richie Beirach, Joe Haider, David Gazarov, Antonio Hart, Brad Leali, Peter Less and others. v. a. In 2012 I received the cultural promotion award of the city of Rosenheim.
In the meantime I teach as a saxophone lecturer at the Neue Jazzschool Munich and perform in a wide variety of formations across Germany. In 2020 my first album will be released - recorded with longtime companions who are not only good friends but also first-class musicians.
