QuartettoQuartetto, a new project born from the synergy between XYQuartet and the Vicenza Conservatory of Music Arrigo Pedrollo.
Released digitally on 18 December 2020 for nusica.org and in January 2021 with the JazzIt magazine n * 111.
The 19th discographic project of nusica.org comes to life from an unprecedented collaboration: that between XYQuartet - a leading ensemble in the European jazz scene - and the Arrigo Pedrollo Conservatory of Music in Vicenza.
QuartettoQuartetto is a large and original orchestration work of famous XYQuartet hits, rearranged by the band and composer Gianmarco Scalici. Six historical pieces of the group (Titov; Malcom Carpenter; Spazio Angusto; Vale Vladi; Consecutio Temporum and Pax Vobiscum) and two unpublished (No Evidence; Essential) recorded and performed together with four musicians from the Arrigo Pedrollo Conservatory of Vicenza, engaged with a wide variety of percussion instruments. The result is a synergistic and avant-garde project, for a record of great color and extreme dynamics, with a strong sound and scenographic impact.
