My earliest experiences with Prokofiev's 5th Symphony were with George Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra. Theygace outstanding performances and a brilliant recording of this music. Sir Malcolm and the LSO are very much in the same league with dedicated, technically polished playing, and Sargent conducting with great feeling for all the nuances and moods in this great symphony. The recorded sound is clear and rich. This is a really wonderful realization of Prokofiev's masterpiece. Recommended strongly.
