Included are three lengthy and reflective improvisations by Alla -- Abdellaziz Abdellah, nicknamed Foundou -- an ud player from southern Morocco with a very personal, improvised style which became famous in his hometown and even attracted the attention of virtuoso Iraqi ud player Munir Bachir's lutenist, who commented that it "breaks free from all the rules of Arabic music." -- John Storm Roberts
