If Adam Melchor’s music puts you to sleep, well, then it’s working.
Last year, the Los Angeles musician created the Melchor Lullaby Hotline, where fans who texted him would receive a new song each Sunday.
Instead of traditional lullabies, Melchor recorded mostly acoustic indie-folk-pop style with an ethereal quality. His calm and soothing voice tucks the listener in tightly to help them chill out and perhaps drift off to sleep.
“That is definitely the intention,” he said. “It’s to have a sort of a little bit of a reality exit and just be able to zone out for a second and relax,” said Melchor, who after a year of recording a new song a week has signed to Warner Records and is releasing the best of the best of his tranquil rock collection in a new mixtape called “Melchor Lullaby Hotline, Vol. 1” .
