A small combo session from the team of Kenny Clarke and Francy Boland including a many of the regular Clarke Boland Big Band players including Sahib Shihab (f); Francy Boland (p); Kenny Clarke (d); Fats Sadi (vib, bgo); Joe Harris (perc) and bassist Jimmy Woode who doubles on vocals "The Band within a Band". Some of the freshest jazz in Europe during 60s. This 2008 re-mastering is just superb, great sonics, good low bass. The playing is wonderful, and Woode's vocals on Billy Strayhorn's Lush Live reminiscent of Johnny Hartman. Great Stuff!!
