In the Music Business, superlatives are tossed around so much that they cease to have much meaning. We often hear the words greatest, fantastic, fabulous, sensational and other of the same genre applied to the more mediocre sort of performance. However, as we all know, there are occasional songs, artists and performances which are deserving of these super-compli- ments. In this package, it seems to me that we have a happy combination in which all three, i.e., artists, songs and perform- ances are deserving of the highest accolades. Boots, who is never mediocre, has done an art-tastic superformance on some song-sational material. Taking their cue from this fact, the de- cision-makers at Monument have called this album SAX-SA- TIONAL. If you're the type which prefers a plain unflowered statement of fact let's say that this album contains twelve ex- cellent renditions of proven hits interpreted by perhaps the most versatile saxophonist of our day.
