Klaus Karlbauer composes and produces music, makes films / videos and performs live as a musician and performance artist. Klaus Karlbauer plays the electric zither and bass clarinet in combination with electronics.

Numerous international collaborations with artists from various fields.

For many years Klaus Karlbauer successfully taught "Media Theater", "Sampling", "Lecture Performance", "Pop & Opera" and "Sound" at the University of Vienna Vienna (TFM - Institute for Theater, Film and Media Studies) . Before that he was a lecturer for multimedia composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

It is the somewhat different musical draft that KLAUS KARLBAUER comes up with on his new album "Lullaby for the Night". And that's exactly what makes it so interesting. Dark in tone, experimental and yet extremely atmospheric, the multi-instrumentalist and composer has once again created a sound that knows how to capture you from the very first moment.

Klaus Karlbauer is an artist who - as his projects show - is constantly exploring new musical paths and practically reinventing himself every time. A clear line in the stylistic direction can hardly be determined with him, but it is precisely this aspect that makes his work and his publications so exciting. You never really know which sound world the multi-instrumentalist and composer from Carinthia will immerse his audience in next. His new album "Wiegenlied für den Nachtmahr" is no exception in this regard. Once again, Klaus Karlbauer surprises with an unusual musical approach, with an idea of an experimental character that has little to do with what is otherwise offered musically these days.
