Anders and Poncia are Peter Andreoli and Vinnie Poncia, who have worked primarily as a songwriting team since the early '60s. They have also recorded at various times, with the Videls ("Mr. Lonely," number 73, 1960), and as the Trade Winds ("New York's a Lonely Town," number 32, 1965; "Mind Excursion," number 51, 1966) and the Innocence ("There's Got to Be a Word!" number 34, 1967; "Mairzy Doats," number 75, 1967). They split up at the end of the '60s, as Poncia became a record producer, but re-teamed in the mid-'70s.
