Momoko Gill - Momoko (Deluxe Edition) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Strut releases the self-titled solo debut album by Momoko Gill, a London-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. The project marks her first major step forward as a solo artist after years of involvement in the UK’s electronic and jazz scenes and high-profile collaborations with musicians such as Matthew Herbert and Alabaster DePlume. Her diverse life experiences, including years spent in Japan and the United States, shape a sound that challenges convention, prioritizing individual expression and an intuitive approach to songwriting. The album features eleven tracks spanning a broad sonic palette, combining jazz grooves with dark electronic instrumentals and introspective, poetic storytelling. Notably, “When Palestine Is Free” features an impressive 50-person choir, as well as renowned musicians Shabaka Hutchings and Soweto Kinch. Recorded at Total Refreshment Centre, the album reflects Momoko Gill’s uncompromising creative vision, brought to life through her distinctive production style and vocal approach.
