Emmet Michael - I Hope You're Home (2021)

The 25-year-old singer-songwriter is dropping the single "God Shaped Hole" in advance of his full album, "I Hope You’re Home".

“I grew up in a conservative church, so it wasn’t an easy time,” says the Edmonton-based artist. “The school I went to from Grade 1 to 9 was small and also religious, but then in high school I went to a public school where I didn’t know anybody. It was exciting but also scary because I had to finally face who I really was. That’s when I turned to drugs and alcohol.” Suffering from lifelong depression and anxiety, Michael discovered it was only through music that he was able to feel at ease. His music is so heartbreaking and beautiful and he blurs different genres, from folk-country to pop, which I also want to do.”
