“Beyrouth-Express Quintet is a skilful blend of jazz and Arabic music, in which Dida’s voice shines with unmatched talent and warmth. Jazz musicians Noé Tavelli and Manu Hagmann provide a strong rhythmic foundation throughout this new project.
A multidisciplinary artist, pianist Mirko Maio brings an inspiring and vibrant touch alongside Samir Nasr Eddine, a master of the Arabic lute, the oud.”
“Meanwhile” — في حين أن — was recorded at Studio Carte Postale in Savigny by Antoine Quinet, with Dida Guigan, Samir Nasr Eddine, Manu Hagmann, Mirko Maio and Noé Tavelli. It is a nod to the various ceasefires that have been called for and displayed over the past two years by citizens of all nationalities around the world.
The project chooses to highlight mostly revisited pieces from Lebanese popular culture and Arabic classical music. Dida, who is of Lebanese origin and initiated the project, feels a duty to preserve and make accessible a culture and history she wishes to see endure and shine beyond the violence currently being inflicted on her people and their neighbours.

Samir Nasr Eddine, Oud & Choir
Manu Hagman, Bass & Choir
