Auteur Theory' is by South London based artist Kailin aka Colin Hallett, which utilises sparse, cavernous production, where glassy synths hail down on precise brittle drum patterns and live instrumentation.
Featuring saxophonist Ben Vince, Auteur Theory takes its name from a phrase coined by French new wave film criticism, representing the director’s intent behind the film. The album elaborates on
this point, referencing the philosophical ideals of determinism and whether an individual’s actions equate their life, and how much capacity we have to change.
