Ramesh Shotham - Ramesh Shotham presents Madras Special (2021)

This jazz and world music album, Madras Special, was released twenty years ago on the short-lived, but exciting record label, Permission Music Production. The music, mostly composed by the leader Ramesh Shotham, was recorded at the Topaz Studio in Cologne. The basic rhythm tracks were laid down by Shotham and bassist Dave King before the musicians - Zoltan Lantos, Brad Shepik, Sandhya Sanjana and special guest Charlie Mariano – came into the studio to record Xillob, Madras Special, Da-Ga, Yellow Rain, Call, Mallari and Sindhu. The album was distributed by Sunny Moon and received excellent reviews in the media.
