Barry Harris has long been the perfect bebop pianist. This solo recital finds Harris paying tribute to Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk as well as Art Tatum, not so much in their compositions (although he does perform Bud's "I'll Keep Loving You") but in aspects of their styles that he has enveloped into his own musical personality. Harris is even able to make bebop sense out of a medley consisting of "It Never Entered My Mind" and the themes from The Flintstones and I Love Lucy.
