Zervas & Pepper are duo Paul Zervas & Kathryn Pepper trading in harmony heavy evocative sun drenched cosmic folk rock. Finding one another whilst performing a solo artist in Cardiff and bonding over a shared love of the Woodstock/Laurel Canyon era of songwriting the pair began putting on showstogether. 'Wilderland' was written and conceived by the duo whilst holed-up in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Returning to their acoustic roots to write, surrounded by the dense wilderness and solitude, a return to nature seeps into thesongs. The sanctuary of their cabin muse only disturbed by thoughts of the outside world and the unfolding events that would soon also find their way into the fabric of the songs. Previous album 'Abstract Heart' brought the band to the attention of legendary singer/songwriter David Crosby (The Byrds/CSN&Y) who reached out to the duo to give his endorsement. Several backstage meetings followed where David recommended the services of James Raymond of CPR and CSN&Y for recording and session work. The first recordings for 'Wilderland' took place at Raymond's Bamboom Studios Alta Dena, Los Angeles. James would co-produce and perform on 'I Leave NoTraces', 'Change Courses' and 'Harlequin'.. bringing a new depth to the songs with hisgrand piano providing the backdrop and a route to the classic songwriter feel of the likes of Jimmy Webb and Joni Mitchell. In addition the bands main stay band, Jack Eggelston (drums), Andrew Brown(bass), Simon Kingman (guitar), Paul Jones (keys) guests include, James Raymond (CSN&Y, Croz) Piano, Iain Sloan (pedal Steel).
