An instructional recording for the basic construction and performance of the hammer dulcimer, an instrument that makes sound when the performer strikes its strings with mallets. In this sense, it may be thought of as a de-mechanized piano. Originally released on the Folk-Legacy label, it is presented by frequent Folk-Legacy contributor Howie Mitchell.
