Stefan Michalke - Unterwegs... (2021)

Stefan Michalke was born in Cologne and received early musical influences from playing the piano and his father's organist activities.
After he received classical piano lessons, his first compositions and improvisations soon followed. He played in various rock bands and became increasingly interested in jazz music.
Between 1989 and 1994 he studied jazz piano at the Maastricht Conservatory. Since then he has released numerous CDs, including 5 CDs with exclusively his own compositions in different line-ups.
As a jazz pianist, he went on concert tours to Eastern Europe, Asia, Brazil and the USA and toured several times with the New York jazz singer Sheila Jordan.
Stefan Michalke lives as a freelance musician and composer in Aachen, plays in various band projects and teaches at various music schools.
Once a month he plays with his trio and guests in an Aachen jazz club.
