Hooker rises to the top on performances at the Keystone in Palo Alto, California, in mid 1977. Not hard at all, really, since his nondescript backup band had all it could handle precariously following his quirky musical strategies. Hooker dedicates "Tupelo" to the recently departed Elvis Presley, who he claims in stage chatter was a "really good friend." - © Frank John Hadley 1993 - From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD
